Valuation of Trust in Government: The Wellbeing Valuation Approach

Subjective wellbeing maximization is a possible goal of government or public policies, and it often considered the individual life. This paper proposes an estimation using Wellbeing Valuation Approach (WVA) to estimate monetized effect trust in government. Using cross-country panel data set for 97 countries period from 2011 2019, we arrive at three main findings. First, there positive relationship between national average life satisfaction. Second, has global median value Intl$ 5649 per person year foregone income. Third, affects satisfaction directly as well indirectly through capita GDP. indirect relatively small compared direct effect, being approximately six times smaller. study contributes policy evaluation literature by providing be used proxy plan future investment assessment.
